OUR MISSION
CARE-Dallas’s mission is to create environments that support and encourage youth to live substance-free lives, setting them up for healthier and more fulfilling futures. Additionally, CARE serves as a confidential resource to serve as a resource for individuals and families struggling with addiction.
Collaborating with schools, civic, educational, government, business and private groups, CARE-Dallas continues to extend its message of hope and recovery throughout the greater Dallas area, employing comprehensive courses and community outreach programs such as referral services, Pathways, New Directions, Red Ribbon Week, community education events, and the CARE Art Program. These initiatives combined with a compassionate staff and respected clinical referral network has enabled CARE to help thousands of individuals and families.

OUR HISTORY
The CARE program was first established in 1984 as a response to the increasing problems caused by the abuse of alcohol and drugs. In 1995, CARE became part of the Park Cities YMCA, who saw the opportunity to expand its reach into the community and provide education, support and referrals for those suffering from alcohol and substance abuse. This exceptional partnership provided CARE the means to continue its mission of delivering critical chemical awareness education and meaningful assistance to individuals and their families who struggle with the challenging repercussions of substance abuse.
In 2012, after many successful years of delivering educational and recovery services as a program of the Park Cities YMCA, CARE moved to office space in the Biggers Building of Highland Park United Methodist Church and is now located in Preston Center thanks to our partnership with Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church.
As its own non-profit, CARE receives no government funds, but is supported solely through the contributions of individuals, small businesses and proceeds of modest fundraising events.
